A couple weeks ago, two of my quilting friends came to visit! We have had this planned for a long time, but never succeeded, until now!
Rannveig came thursday afternoon and the talking and chatting started! Not much sewing done the first night, only discussing fabrics, patterns etc. She managed to decide which pattern she wanted to sew and which fabrics to use. She landed on this pattern ...
from this book from Buggy Barn...
The biggest job was to find out how the colour combinations for each block would be, without getting awful surprices! When we found out how, it was easy.
Here she is ironing...
Step three is done, only one more to go...
Anita arrived on friday afternoon. She didn't bring her sewing machine, but was busy stitching! And crocheting! But that is another story. More of that in a later post!
I have had these fabrics in this box for a while...
... thinking of making this quilt... I think I must have liked this pattern very much, because I bought it twice... LOL! Have you ever done that???
I didn't get much sewing done, only cutting! What a surprice! People who know me, know I am really slow at getting things done during classes and retreats... Wonder why...?
Rannveig went home with all the blocks finished, and got the whole quilt top sewed together next day! I think it turned out really beautiful. She used alomst all of the Lecien fabrics she and her friend have in their store Kreativ Quilt!
Hmmm, look at this! I managed to sew down one of the labels I put on the rows to keep them in right position!!
Oh, I almost forgot to say that, yes, we did have a little time to eat and drink a little, but not much! It is so wonderful to spend time with good friends like this! Thank you both for your visit!Take care until next time!

I spy Mistletoe Manor yardage - I LOVE that collection! I have some fat quarters from it, but I can't bring myself to cut into them yet. Looks like you've got a great project lined up for your fabric!
Hello! Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog! Using starch to prep your appliqué pieces is a little bit of work, but SO WORTH IT! There are several different tutorials on the web. Perhaps I'll post some more info. about the method I used. Thanks for visiting. Your blog is very nice. I plan on visiting again.
I have never bought the same pattern twice :) Rannveig´s quilt is beautiful and yours of course too.
I don't think I've ever bought the same pattern twice, but have done that with magazines. Love the two quilt tops, what a productive time the two of you had.
