My Little Princess
Eight years ago, something happened, that turned our lives upside down. Our little princess was born! Not the princess we all had been waiting for for many months, but a very special little princess. A little girl who would learn us how to be more patient, a little girl who would teach us how to appreciate every little thing she achieved. A little girl who gave us sleepless nights and worries. Worries about illness and her future. A little girl who can be a bit stubborn and sometimes is able make us a little angry! A little girl who laughs very easily and make us laugh! A very loving and caring one! A little sister who loves her big brother and sister so much! A little girl who is not afraid to show her happiness. We all love her smiles, her joy and happiness. Her hugs are the best you can get. Our little princess was born with Downs Syndrome. There has been both good and hard days. When our princess was born, I thought I had to make her a colourful quilt to stimulate her, but it took me a long time before I was able to sew again. I had been collecting bright fabrics for a while, for a baby/kid-quilt. Finally I got started, and I decided on making a tumbler quilt. When all the pieces were cut, I tried to put them together properly, but the whole thing turned out way too busy! So I decided to split the colours into "blues" and "reds".
I call them the Twin Quilts...since they were supposed to be just one quilt!
I love the way they both turned out!
Quilts approved by the owner!
We are so proud of our little princess, for each new thing she is learning, every new step she is able to take in her life! She has a life full of possibilities waiting for her!
Until next time...
Take care!
May Kristin

What a wonderful moving post. Your princess looks so adorable anyone would want one of her hugs. You are one lucky family. Hugs to you all, and I love the quilts, both of them.
Both quilts are charming, but your little princess is even more beautiful. It sounds like she enriches the lives of all of your family. :-)
